After nearly three years without a captain, the Blue Jackets finally have their man. The team will name forward Nick Foligno as its sixth captain at a news conference on Wednesday morning at Nationwide Arena, several sources told The Dispatch.

Ohio State's Jacoby Boren on Rimington Trophy watch list

Ohio State center Jacoby Boren has been named to watch list for the Rimington Trophy, given annually to college football's best center. Boren started 15 games for the national champion Buckeyes in 2015. He is one of five Big Ten players on the spring watch list. He's joined by Jack Allen (Michigan State), Austin Blythe (Iowa), Robert Kugler (Purdue) and Dan Voltz (Wisconsin). Reese Dismukes of Auburn won the award last season.

College football: Ex-Notre Dame quarterback Golson chooses Florida State

Former Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is transferring to Florida State, where he will have the chance to replace Jameis Winston. Golson said in a statement to Fox Sports today he will spend his fifth year of eligibility with the Seminoles. Golson graduated from Notre Dame on Sunday and will be immediately eligible to play under NCAA graduate transfer rules.
