Manchester City 3-0 Burnley, Premier League: Tactical Analysis

City weren’t at their best, but were more than good enough to easily put Burnley away at home. Despite how the 3-0 scoreline may look, Manchester City were actually not in peak form against Burnley on Saturday. As the game wore on however, the Citizens found their footing and finished the match on a strong note. The early struggles were mostly a credit to Burnley’s ability to effectively defend in conjunction with some poor execution by City. Pep Guardiola made a couple of lineup changes from the Napoli match, bringing in Bernardo Silva for Raheem Sterling and Sergio Agüero for...

Your votes are in! As we do before every match here at Bitter and Blue, we give the fans an opportunity to participate in a contest and choose their lineup for the next Manchester City game. We’ve done the same for Saturday’s Premier League match against Burnley, and you want El Kun to return. In a very tight vote when it comes to the attacking players, you chose Sergio Agüero to start for the first time since his car accident three weeks ago. Agüero just beat Raheem Sterling, which could very well happen since Gabriel Jesus cannot be dropped and Leroy Sané is just too important...

Manchester City rely on early goals to overcome Napoli in Champions League

Manchester City extended their perfect record in Group F with a display that saw them purring up though the attacking gears before finding themselves reeled in by high-class, fast-breaking opponents. Manchester City vs. Napoli, Champions League: Predicted Lineups

Who starts on this huge European game? MANCHESTER CITY When it’s all working so well, don’t change it. Even the fan of rotations Pep Guardiola will agree with that, so expect pretty much the same team that started in the wins against Stoke City and Chelsea. The only possible change is Sergio Agüero in place of Raheem Sterling, but Sterling is in such incredible form that it makes sense to keep him in the starting lineup and have Agüero come off the bench, which isn’t really a bad option to have if you’re a coach looking to change a tough game. Even though we’ll see the same team...
