San Diego Union-Tribune — With the All-Star break approaching and Will Venable’s lower-back problems not improving, the Padres placed the right fielder on the 15-day disabled list Saturday and recalled outfielder Aaron Cunningham from Portland less than 48 hours after he was optioned to the Triple-A affiliate.
