Emptying the SoxFest notebook

White Sox quotes from Robin Ventura, Rick Hahn, Don Cooper, David Robertson and more. Robin Ventura: Plan is for Adam LaRoche to get the majority of the playing time at DH. Maybe someone else against lefties. He'll play once or twice a week at first base, but Jose Abreu is the long-term first baseman. Second base is an open competition with Carlos Sanchez, Micah Johnson and Emilio Bonifacio. The third baseman is Conor Gillaspie. "If five left-handed starters have the best stuff, we'll start five lefties." "Eaton has the green light [to run]". Rick Hahn: LaRoche is a Gold Glove-caliber...

Love is in the air at 2015 SoxFest

CHICAGO – As expected, the Chicago White Sox’s annual fan festival, known as SoxFest, was more of a love fest with fans eager to praise rather than criticize the makeup of the team’s roster. Offseason moves to add proven veterans like Adam LaRoche, Jeff Samrdzija, Melky Cabrera, David Robertson and Zach Duke have resonated well with the fan base. In fact, the annual SoxFest opening seminar featuring the general manager and the field manager was filled with compliments instead of the criticism of the past.

White Sox sign Andy Laroche, re-sign Michael Taylor to minor league deals

"Reunited cause it feels..." oh, you know the rest. The Sox reunite the LaRoches after splitting up the Danks. Michael Taylor comes back, and the Sox add another righty power hitter to the minor league system. The White Sox continue to stock up on bodies by signing third baseman Andy LaRoche and outfielder Michael Taylor to minor league deals this past week. With the Andy LaRoche signing, the Sox reunite a new set of brother for at least spring training.  Andy, 31,  and Adam LaRoche both played for the Pirates during the 2008 and 2009 season before Adam was traded to the Red Sox in June...

White Sox add another LaRoche to fold

CHICAGO -- In jeopardy of losing the Danks brothers, the Chicago White Sox made sure to lock up the LaRoche brothers for the upcoming season. Baseball America reported Saturday that the White Sox signed infielder Andy LaRoche to a minor-league deal. The club also signed first baseman Chris Jacobs and re-signed outfielder Michael Taylor, who finished last season with the major league club. Jacobs and Taylor were also signed to minor-league deals. The White Sox signed Adam LaRoche, Andy’s brother, in November to a two-year, $25 million deal.
