Addison Reed makes quick work of Angels

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed entered Friday's contest against the Angels in the ninth inning with a three-run advantage.Reed needed just 11 pitches to retire the side in order to pick up his 14th save of the season. Reed has converted 14 of 15 save opportunities and improved his ERA to 2.37 after Friday's 3-0 victory.

Addison Reed saves lucky No. 13

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed closed out his third game in a row Thursday, in a 5-4 win over the Angels. Reed needed just 10 pitches to pitch a perfect ninth inning, as he picked up two groundball outs and one fly ball out. He now has 13 saves in 14 opportunities, with a 2.50 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 18 innings of work.

Reed, who picked up his 12th save of the season, has struck out six and has not permitted a run in his last three innings.

Addison Reed gives up run in ninth

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed did not have a very good ninth inning on Wednesday in New York against the Mets. Reed allowed a run on three hits over 27 pitches in the ninth in the 6-3 win over the Mets.  Reed entered the game with a 6-2 lead in a non-save situation. He ended up striking out the side as his ERA is now at 2.81. Reed, who has gone 11 for 12 in save situations, has given up three earned runs over his last three appearances.

Addison Reed bounces back for 11th save

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed pitched a perfect 11th inning Monday against the Royals for his 11th save during a 2-1 win. Reed struck out one, which gives him 18 in 15 innings. Reed bounced back from his first blown save Sunday and has eight saves in his last 10 appearances dating to April 14. Bullpen, defense stumble yet again

Chicago White Sox Blog | ESPN Chicago — It is getting so bad for the Chicago White Sox now that even one of their most dependable performers has joined the struggles that are sweeping through the clubhouse like a virus. With a victory well within their grasp, the White Sox managed to lose yet another one to the Kansas City Royals when closer Addison Reed followed two walks with a two-out, two-run, game-tying double in the bottom of the ninth inning. That is the same Reed who had converted 17 consecutive save chances going back to last season and 10 of his first 10 chances to start this season.

Addison Reed blows first save

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed blew his first save Sunday against the Royals. He entered in the ninth inning with a two-run lead and walked the first two batters. After retiring two in a row, Reed gave up a game-tying double to Billy Butler. Reed saw his ERA rise from 1.38 to 2.57 on the outing and is 10 for 11 in save chances.

How it happened: The bullpen led directly to the latest defeat at Kansas City as closer Addison Reed gave up two runs in the ninth inning and Brian Omogrosso gave up one in the 10th to end it. The White Sox are now 9-20 over their past 29 games at Kauffman Stadium. Before Reed’s blown save, the White Sox looked to be set up for the victory with a four-run seventh inning that was highlighted by Alejandro De Aza’s two-run double.

Addison Reed pitches around wildness

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed did not bring his best control to the mound Thursday against the Rangers, but he was able to pick up his 10th save anyway. Reed threw just 12 of his 23 pitches for strikes, and he walked two batters to put the tying run on base with just one out. Fortunately for him, he bounced back with a pair of strikeouts to finish the inning. Reed earned his 10th save in as many opportunities in a 3-1 win. Reed has a 1.38 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with a 1-0 record. He has 17 strikeouts and six walks in 13 innings.

Addison Reed picks up another save

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox closer Addison Reed continued his strong start to the season Wednesday, as he closed out his ninth save in a row against the Rangers. He tossed a scoreless ninth inning in a 5-2 win. Reed brought the tying run to the plate after he hit a batter with a pitch and allowed a two-out single, but he struck out Elvis Andrus to finish the game. Reed has a 1.50 ERA and nine saves in nine opportunities, with 14 strikeouts and only four walks in 12 innings of work.

    What looked like a replay of Tuesday night turned into what passes as a convincing victory for the White Sox these days. Conor Gillaspie opened the seventh with a homer of Nick Tepesch to break a 2-2 tie, and after a Tyler Flowers single, Alejandro De Aza also put one over the fence in the right-field corner to provide a cushion that Chris Sale and the bullpen wouldn't need.
