Reds don't like Alfredo Simon's chances

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Reds do not expect relief pitcher Alfredo Simon to make the team's opening day roster, MLB.com reports. Simon has not seen a lot of innings this spring and barely pitched for Team Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic. Simon, 31, does not have any options remaining and must clear waivers if he is going to remain with the Reds. "Most cases, the WBC doesn't hurt guys," manager Dusty Baker said. "In that part, I think it hurt his progress some by not pitching."
