Reds activate Michael Lorenzen, place Alfredo Simon on DL

That's a solid addition. The Cincinnati Reds made a predictable move on Wednesday, activating RHP Michael Lorenzen while placing Alfredo Simon on the 15-day DL with a hyperextended ERA. Lorenzen off 60-day DL, Simon to 15-day DL (right trapezius), Pacheco refused outright and elected free agency. — Cincinnati Reds (@Reds) June 22, 2016 Lorenzen was already with the Reds in Texas after having kept a tidy 0.00 ERA in 4 appearances in a relief role while on rehab with the Louisville Bats, and he and his near 100 MPH fastball will quickly find a regular spot in the Cincinnati bullpen....

Reds snap 11 game losing streak, beat Brewers in game full of weirdness and stupidity

Despite Alfredo Simon's idiocy and fortunate for some weird last inning replay, the Reds start a win streak! The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the Game Adam Duvall. I'm not sure that there's anything left to be written about him at this point. In a season full of disappointment, frustration, and frustratingly disappointing injuries, Duvall has been a shining star. Keeping in mind that he was generally considered the throw in a trade the Giants made for nine starts of Mike Leake, and this is a seriously impressive two months of the season. In this one, he went 2-5 with 2 runs scored...
