Mets sign Bobby Abreu, send him to Las Vegas

Bobby Abreu's comeback bid will continue with the Mets, who announced Monday that the 40-year-old has signed a minor-league deal. He will report to Triple-A Las Vegas. The Phillies released Abreu last week after he hit .244 in spring training while struggling in the field. The former Yankees outfielder hasn't played in the majors since 2012. CBSSports.com first reported that Abreu was on the Mets' radar.
