The Giants and Brandon Belt probably aren't a long-term fit

The Giants enjoy locking their homegrown players up to long-term deals, but the looming arbitration case reminds us that Brandon Belt might not get that kind of extension. The Giants just might end up going to arbitration with Brandon Belt. It's early February, and the two sides started as far apart as they have with any Giants player since Tim Lincecum in 2010.
