Blue Jays should trade Brandon Drury before the season begins

As the 2019 season is set to begin, it is no secret that the Toronto Blue Jays will be using this year to rebuild with younger players making their major league debuts. With a loaded infield roster, the Jays should capitalize on the market for utility infielders and trade Brandon Drury this season. Quick Recap: Galvis and Pillar Homer

Quick Recap: Galvis and Pillar Homer

Blue Jays 2 Phillies 3 It was a day for the pitchers. Jays scored 2 on solo homers. Freddy Galvis went the opposite way, a fly that just barely cleared the wall, and Kevin Pillar hit one out to left. Brandon Drury almost homered, the ball hit the top of the wall in center. I thought it was out at first, but not quite. Ryan Borucki had a nice day. Went 4.2, allowed 3 hits (all singles), 1 earned, 1 walk with 5 strikeouts. He threw 77 pitches. He has a 3.24 ERA on the spring. Pretty good, considering he had some troubles to start the spring. Other pitchers: Trent Thronton: 1.1, 1 walk, 2...

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. out three weeks with oblique strain

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. out three weeks with oblique strain

The Blue Jays tell us that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is out with a ‘left oblique strain’. They figure he will be out for three weeks, so the rest of spring training, including the games in Montreal. Apparently it happened on Friday. The good news is we won’t be talking about service time anymore. With the three weeks off, plus ‘rehab time’, he’ll won’t be up with the Jays until late April. Get better quick Vlad. It looks like we’ll see Brandon Drury play third for a little bit longer than we expected. Drury is having a good spring, hitting .381/.435/.762 with 2 home runs....

Better know your Blue Jays 40-man: Billy McKinney

Billy McKinney is a left-handed hitting outfielder who came to us in the J.A. Happ trade, along with Brandon Drury. He was a first round draft pick of the Oakland A’s in 2013. In 2014 the A’s sent him to the Cubs in a big trade that had Addison Russell and Dan Straily go with him to the Cubs, for Jason Hammel and Jeff Samardzija. In 2016 the Cubs traded him, Gleyber Torres and Adam Warren to the Yankees for Aroldis Chapman. He started the 2018 season on the Yankee’s roster, and played in their 2nd and 3rd game of the season and then he went on the DL with a shoulder strain and...
