Brandon Woodruff pulled from start mid at-bat in 4th inning

Photo by Christian Petersen/ Oh man, please don’t be anything serious. Things got off to a rocky start for Brandon Woodruff this afternoon in his start against the Arizona Diamondbacks, as the hurler yielded four runs across the first three innings of the ballgame. The offense breathed new life into the ballgame with a grand slam to tie the game off the bat of Tyler Saladino in the top of the fourth and Woodruff went back out to the mound to keep things going in the bottom half of the inning. But he lasted only two pitches, getting pulled mid at-bat with in an apparent injury...

Brew Crew take out their frustration on Atlanta, 13-1.

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports Christian Yelich launches a grand slam to bust things open Coming into tonight game with the Atlanta Braves, the buzz around Brewer Nation has been around the lack of hitting by Brewers’ hitters with runners in scoring position. That would change this evening as the Brewers would beat up on the Braves 13-1 and go 6 for 15 with runners in scoring position. Pitching for Milwaukee this evening was Brandon Woodruff. Where would the Brewers be without Brandon Woodruff. Coming into play tonight, the Brew Crew was 14-4 when he pitched. Well make that 15-4. Woody...

Braves, Wilson hammered by Brewers 13-1

Braves, Wilson hammered by Brewers 13-1

Photo by Quinn Harris/ This one was ugly. The Braves, from Bryse Wilson early to Touki Toussaint late, got absolutely demolished by the Brewers in this game. Brandon Woodruff was excellent, and the Brewers offense gave him plenty of run support in a 13-1 beating of the Braves. The Atlanta offense was eerily quiet for almost the entirety of the game aside from a Tyler Flowers solo home run in the fifth inning. Brandon Woodruff opened the game firing his trademark high-90’s fastball for strikes, and continued to attack Atlanta hitters all night. Woodruff was lifted with two outs in the...

Brewers announce starting rotation coming out of All-Star Break

Brandon Woodruff does not pitch again until July 16 An interesting piece of information coming out of Brewers camp concerns how Milwaukee will sequence their starting rotation coming out of the break. Since Brandon Woodruff pitched like the Brewers’ ace in the first half and Zach Davies pitched well too, it could be assumed that they would cover the first two games against the San Francisco Giants on Friday and Saturday. 2019 MLB All-Star Game Thread

The All-Star Game is here, and four Brewers should make an appearance tonight (with one other in attendance). The All-Star Game is here, and the Brewers figure to be a prominent part of it. Christian Yelich will be leading off the game for the National League as the only Brewers starter in the lineup. We should see plenty of action later in the game though, as Mike Moustakas and Yasmani Grandal are available on the bench and Brandon Woodruff is in the bullpen. Josh Hader is also in attendance, but will not be playing after he pulled out of the game due to a back injury. Here are the lineups...

Milwaukee Brewers: Why is Brandon Woodruff going to the ASG?

The Milwaukee Brewers have a starting pitcher to the All-Star Game! Brandon Woodruff has been named as a replacement for the National League, but why? Brandon Woodruff will join Josh Hader, Mike Moustakas, Christian Yelich, and Yasmani Grandal in representing the Milwaukee Brewers at the 2019 All Star Game. That’s good. He’s replacing Hader. Milwaukee Brewers may be polishing up a hidden gem in pitching prospect Johan Belisario

Milwaukee Brewers may be polishing up a hidden gem in pitching prospect Johan Belisario

A minor league free agent signing before the season, he is having a stellar year for the Shuckers. If there is one thing that the Milwaukee Brewers have done well under the David Stearns regime, it is develop pitchers. Since the current brain trust’s first year at the helm in 2016, Josh Hader and Brandon Woodruff have graduated into All-Stars. Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, Brent Suter, and Adrian Houser have become MLB-caliber hurlers. Scrap-heap pickups like Junior Guerra and Jeremy Jeffress have advanced into multi-year roles with the Cream City Nine. The org has coaxed top-flight...

Brandon Woodruff added to National League All-Star Team

His spot comes at the expense of another teammate. Major League Baseball announced three new additions to the 2019 All-Star teams this afternoon. Masahiro Tanaka will replace injured Marcus Stroman for the American League. In the National League, Pirates reliever Felipe Vazquez gets the honor of getting one of two open spots. Unfortunately, former Brewer Zack Grienke will not play in the game, so a spot was available and Vasquez was named to fill it. For Milwaukee fans, the third selection is the most important one. Todd Rosiak reported that Brandon Woodruff would take the place of Josh...

Reds beat Brewers 1-0 in classic pitcher’s duel on Independence Day

Brewers held scoreless in last 23 innings Two aces took the mound today for the Brewers and Reds. Brandon Woodruff and Luis Castillo pitched like the aces they are. Woody was sensational. His line was 6 innings pitched giving up just 1 run on 7 hits. He struck out 6 while walking none. Surprisingly he was removed from the game going into the seventh with just 88 pitches thrown. A 1-2-3 sixth inning for Brandon Woodruff, who is pitching a gem for the #Brewers that no one is noticing because of Castillo's no-hit bid.— Tom (@Haudricourt) July 4, 2019 Luis Castillo was even better. Brandon Woodruff carries Brewers to 3-1 victory against the Pirates

Eric Thames also helped the cause Brandon Woodruff and the Milwaukee Brewers cruised to a 3-1 victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Woodruff continued to be the anchor of the Brewers rotation. The only trouble he faced came immediately in the first inning. Woody gave up a hit to the first batter and then hit the second batter to immediately put two on. He safely navigated past Starling Marte and Josh Bell, but allowed gave up a double to Colin Moran. One batter came in to score, but Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura teamed up to gun down the runner trying to score from first at the...
