To make room on the 40-man roster for Laird, the team designated LHP Xavier Cedeno for assignment. Wallace, a former first-round draft pick of St. Louis, was batting .042 with just one hit in 24 at-bats. Laird, 25, hit .353 in 12 games for Oklahoma City with two home runs and 14 RBI.
