Baltimore Orioles: Should the team go after CC Sabathia?

The Baltimore Orioles pitching staff was numerically ranked 27th in the MLB. In the American League, only the Detroit Tigers were worse. If the Baltimore Orioles want to build a respectable pitching rotation, they will need to find pitchers who can consistently pitch unhittable strikes. The Orioles had pitchers who could throw strikes, but they […] Baltimore Orioles: Should the team go after CC Sabathia? - Birds Watcher - Birds Watcher - A Baltimore Orioles Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Chris Tillman had a contract year to forget for the Orioles

Chris Tillman had a contract year to forget for the Orioles

The Orioles former ace struggled with injury, decreased velocity and non-existent control For Chris Tillman, 2017 was a nightmare. A shoulder injury nagged him in Spring Training and caused him to miss the first month of the regular season. But even when the right-hander was deemed “healthy”, the results were poor. He now enters the winter as a free agent with an unsure future. Tillman’s trouble with his right shoulder has become a long, drawn out issue at this point. He hit the disabled listed with it back in August 2016 before bouncing back to finish the season and pitch in the Wild...

We can enjoy at least a little bit of celebration today for knowing that in the end, the Red Sox won...

Orioles catcher Chance Sisco didn't get a full assessment from his manager after his first nine-inning major league stint in the Orioles' final home game, one that included his second major league home run in limited playing time and saw him usher the pitching staff to a 9-4 win. Rays 4, Orioles 9: Archer Off Target (Sorry)

Tampa Bay’s bats unable to overcome Sunday’s pitching woes in matinee loss Well it sure started off in a fun way. With Dylan Bundy scratched from today’s start, Chris Tillman was on the mound against our Rays, and Kevin Kiermaier welcomed him by taking his very first pitch over the wall in right center field to put the Rays up 1-0 early. Chris Archer struggled mightily in the first frame as well, giving up hits to Manny Machado, Jonathan Schoop, Adam Jones, Chris Davis and Pedro Alvarez that ended up sending four Orioles across the plate to more than erase Tampa Bay’s early lead....

Sunday afternoon Orioles game thread: vs. Rays, 1:35

It’s the first post-elimination game for the 2017 Orioles. The lineup looks like it. Chris Tillman replaced Dylan Bundy as the starter about 90 minutes before first pitch. The Orioles hopes for the season are officially over and we are finally getting a lineup that looks like it. I guess we are, anyway. The only surprise, so to speak, is Chance Sisco at catcher. Things have also worked out where J.J. Hardy gets the start in what might be his final home game as an Oriole. That’s likely a result of Tim Beckham having a little hamstring problem after running hard to first base in last...
