Red Sox re-sign Craig Breslow to one-year deal

Craig Breslow is back in Boston, for better or for worse. Left-handed reliever Craig Breslow will be returning to the Red Sox for 2015 on a one-year contract worth $2 million, per Rob Bradford. When the Red Sox acquired Breslow back in 2012, he was coming off three strong years of work (over four seasons) with Oakland. In his time there, Breslow pitched to a 3.14 ERA with a 2.34 K/BB. The only concern was that his fly ball tendencies might come back to haunt him in cozy Fenway. In the end, though, homers haven't been the problem. He just...hasn't been terribly good. History will show...

Craig Breslow Returns To Sox On 1-YR Deal

(FenwayNation Photo)At least the Red Sox clubhouse will be a little smarter now. Yale grad Craig Breslow re-signed with the Boston yesterday on a one-year, $2 million deal. Breslow helps fill the left-handed void in the bullpen—and, hopefully, will revert to his pre-2014 form. While the all-Yale battery is no longer possible with the departure of Ryan Lavarnway (who has bounced all over MLB in the last week), signing Breslow is a good move by Ben Cherington.
