BOSTON — Red Sox reliever Craig Breslow was activated and Andrew Bailey was placed on the disabled list Monday.

ARLINGTON, Tex. — Craig Breslow came out of his fifth minor league rehab appearance well Saturday on the way back from left shoulder tendinitis, and the Red Sox could activate him Monday at the start of a homestand.

TORONTO — Right-hander Alfredo Aceves' first start since his demotion was productive Thursday night in a 10-1 win for Triple-A Pawtucket over Durham, a Rays affiliate. He hadn't pitched since nine days before, April 23, in a messy 13-0 Red Sox loss to Oakland.
