Chris Young poised for 2nd Mets 'debut'

Chris Young and Curtis Granderson both should return to the lineup Friday.PHOENIX -- The Mets should get two jolts to their outfield Friday, when they open a series at Citi Field against the Atlanta Braves. Chris Young joined the Mets on Wednesday in Arizona and is scheduled to be activated from the disabled list Friday, when he is eligible. Terry Collins expects Curtis Granderson will return to the starting lineup that day as well.

Grandy dodges DL, expects to return soon

PHOENIX -- Curtis Granderson, whose left side was beat up after colliding with the outfield wall Monday attempting a catch, will avoid the disabled list. Curtis Granderson #3 RFNew York Mets 2014 STATS GM13 HR1 RBI4 R5 OBP.291 AVG.170 Granderson planned to have a light batting-practice session, throw and take a few balls in the outfield Tuesday at Chase Field. Still, given the Mets have a day game Wednesday and are off Thursday, it may be most prudent for Granderson to wait until Friday to reenter the lineup.
