Game Recap: Astros Beat Angels 3-1 Behind Keuchel’s Brilliant Outing

The Houston Astros are off and running as they are now 1-0 in the second half of the season I think it is safe to say that I have not seen that good of a start from Dallas Keuchel in a long, long time. Tonight’s display was the equivalent of 2015 Keuchel, when he could place any pitch wherever he wanted to place it whenever he wanted to place it. His last three starts were really solid coming into this game, but nothing like tonight. Keuchel was on point in Los Angeles and deserves all the credit in this one. On the night, Keuchel pitched 7.2 innings and finished with a line of only two...

Angels struggle against former Cy Young lefty Dallas Keuchel, lose to Astros

The Angels, who came into the game with the majors' second-worst average against left-handers, had just two hits against Keuchel. Tyler Skaggs gave up three early runs, then nothing else through six innings.

Astros send Tyler White down with no corresponding move

The Astros make a roster move before the All-Star break by sending Tyler White down. Dallas Keuchel got to do something he hasn’t in a few years. He got to take a break during the All-Star break. Houston Astros: Dallas Keuchel rebounding well throughout July

If the Houston Astros plan to compete with the Yankees, Red Sox and Mariners, they will need all pitchers to perplex opponents in the second half. Dallas Keuchel, after a month to forget, is getting back on track this month. To say that Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel struggled in June is an understatement. Game 97 Preview: Tigers at Astros

Gerrit Cole has been one of baseball’s best pitchers in 2018. In past years, the Tigers would have their bad night against Dallas Keuchel and that would be the end of it. This scenario played out again on Friday, as the Tigers offense couldn’t break through against Keuchel despite putting plenty of runners on base. But normally, that would be their toughest matchup. This year? It was their easiest, and by a wide margin. Less than 24 hours after getting blanked by Keuchel, the Tigers have to deal with righthander Gerrit Cole, a former No. 1 overall pick who is pitching like it this...

Fiers spent 2 1⁄2 years with the Astros, and was part of the World Series championship team last season. The innings leader for the 2017 World Series champion Houston Astros will be on the Minute Maid Park on Friday evening. But, just as his 2018 results have somewhat baffled fans and analysts alike, the surprising answer to the above trivia nugget isn’t Astros lefthander Dallas Keuchel; it’s Mike Fiers. The 2017 season wasn’t a great individual one for Fiers, though. He allowed a 5.22 ERA in 153 1⁄3 innings with the Astros, and led the league with 13 hit batters. His advanced...

What a Player Owes

An athlete’s opinion about his job shouldn’t matter, but seems to stir controversy anyways For those of you who don’t know there was a mild twitter controversy the other day involving everyone’s favorite haymaking quote author, Dallas Keuchel. Before his start against the White Sox, a reporter in the clubhouse heard Dallas mention that he was getting two wins that day, the one he would get on the mound and getting out of picture day. Basically Dallas was happy that, since he was starting that day, he didn’t have to go and pose for a bunch of pictures and give autographs to fans...

Astros AM Breakdown: Groundballs were Dallas Keuchel’s best friend

Oh, look, the Astros swept the White Sox in four games. If only a World Series title was on the line. Astros’ starter Dallas Keuchel generated 17 groundballs Sunday afternoon against the White Sox. In fact, the 17 groundballs were the most in any start this season for Keuchel. While groundballs by pitchers are not […] Astros AM Breakdown: Groundballs were Dallas Keuchel’s best friend - Climbing Tals Hill - Climbing Tals Hill - A Houston Astros Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Houston Astros: Dallas Keuchel hasn’t escaped his haphazard ways

Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel has had essentially two different careers. In some seasons, he’s been an elite hurler. In others, he’s looked even worse than mediocre. And after enjoying a rebound campaign in 2017, he reverted back to inconsistency during this year’s first half. Dallas Keuchel walked off the mound at Minute Maid Park, […] Houston Astros: Dallas Keuchel hasn’t escaped his haphazard ways - Call to the Pen - Call to the Pen - A Major League Baseball Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Astros win on road again with 5-3 victory at rival Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas — Dallas Keuchel had a different catcher before throwing his first pitch for the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.Everything worked out just fine with Tim Federowicz behind the plate with the former AL Cy Young Award winner throwing some of his best breaking pitches all season.Keuchel struck out seven and allowed only two runs over seven scoreless innings, winning for only the second time in his last nine starts, as the Astros beat the Texas Rangers 5-3."Some of the shape it was taking early was really good. Astros: Location hurts Dallas Keuchel in the first inning

I was in attendance at yesterday’s Astros game. After being there firsthand and re-watching later, I wanted to share my thoughts on Dallas Keuchel‘s first inning struggle. As our editor and my co-writer Cody Poage mentioned, the first inning is not always Keuchel’s best. The Astros‘ bearded southpaw produced plenty of ground ball outs, but the […] Astros: Location hurts Dallas Keuchel in the first inning - Climbing Tals Hill - Climbing Tals Hill - A Houston Astros Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More
