It also is signals something more significant to manager Fredi Gonzalez. "When hitters are finding the other way, the opposite field, that means they're swinging it really good," Gonzalez said, per MLB.com. "Lefties to left-center and righties to right-center -- that's when they're really, really locked in." Uggla is batting .290 (9 for 31) with a .516 slugging percentage in his last eight games. His batting average has gone from .160 to .198 in that span.
