One year ago today, the Red Sox made their last desperate attempt to salvage Daniel Bard. They promoted the formerly flame-throwing righty from AAA to the majors to see if he had figured things out. He had not. In the off-season, Bard was shipped to the Texas Rangers. Then, on January 2, 2014 he had Thoracic Outlet Syndrome surgery on his right shoulder.
