Bard issued five walks and threw two wild pitches in an inning-plus for Double-A Portland on Wednesday, throwing eight of 30 pitches for strikes. It was the worst outing yet for a pitcher still trying to figure out the control problems that wrecked his 2012 season. Clubhouse Insider | Boston Herald — The dissolution of Daniel Bard continued tonight.Pitching for the Double A Portland Sea Dogs, Bard produced his worst outing of the season. In one-plus innings, the former all-world setup man walked five, threw two wild pitches and allowed two runs. He threw just eight of his 30 pitches for strikes, and was particularly brutal after coming back out for the seventh, walking the bases loaded and throwing a wild pitch before being lifted.In five appearances since returning to Double A, he has walked 13 in 3.2 innings.

Daniel Bard can't find plate at Double-A

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Red Sox reliever Daniel Bard had another disastrous outing for Double-A Portland Saturday. Bard allowed one run in 2/3 innings without issuing a hit because he walked four batters. Bard has had trouble throwing strikes since being demoted to Portland in late April. Saturday was the fourth-straight outing he failed to throw more than 50 percent of his pitches for strikes. In fact, he's had a 37 percent strike rate (29 of 79 pitches) since his return, according to WEEI.
