Oakland A's put Danny Valencia on disabled list, Tyler Ladendorf call up likely

The Oakland Athletics placed third baseman Danny Valencia on the 15-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain on Friday, retroactive to April 21. Valencia suffered the injury popping out of a slide after getting thrown out at home plate in the fourth inning of Wednesday's contest against the New York Yankees. It has not been announced whether Valencia will need more than the minimum time off. Oakland A's injury: Danny Valencia exits Yankees game with left hamstring strain

The Oakland Athletics announced that Danny Valencia exited Wednesday's game against the New York Yankees with a "left hamstring strain." In the top of the fourth inning, Valencia was attempting to score on a Yonder Alonso fly ball to left field but was thrown out at the plate to end in the inning. Valencia came up out of his slide grabbing his upper left leg, limped to the dugout, and did not take the field for the bottom half. It is too early to know the severity of the injury. The A's moved Chris Coghlan from second base to third base and Jed Lowrie entered the game at second base....
