David DeJesus succeeding in platoon role

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Cubs outfielder David DeJesus hasn't been playing against lefties, but that might be for the best. DeJesus has been a much better hitter against righties over his career. In 3,157 at-bats, DeJesus has a .293/.368/.453 line against right-handers. DeJesus has continued that success and is hitting .314/.382/.559 in 118 at-bats against righties this year. Although a platoon isn't ideal for Fantasy owners, DeJesus is in the better half of a platoon situation. He should see a fair amount of playing time against right-handers, and that should keep him in the lineup fairly often.

Chicago Cubs Blog | ESPN Chicago — It's time for another edition of "Five Questions With ..." This time the talkative David DeJesus sits down to answer questions he won't get in a postgame press conference, including a bonus sixth query: When a guy like Anthony Rizzo gets new paper how long does he have to buy for? DeJesus: I told him in the shower the other day -- yes, in the shower -- 'You're going to be expected to buy a lot now. Even though you're young, money talks.' What's the best insult by an opposing fan?

David DeJesus hits fourth home run

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Cubs outfielder David DeJesus went just 1 for 5 in Tuesday's loss to San Diego, but the one hit was his fourth homer of the season. DeJesus has been a force atop the Cubs' lineup as he boasts a potent .278/.352/.557 line through April's games. DeJesus has never had a full season with a slugging percentage above .452, though, so expecting such power to remain throughout the next few months may be misguided. Still, DeJesus has been an above-average hitter for his career (107 OPS+ in over 4,000 at-bats) and as such he makes a good leadoff man to set the table for hitters like Starlin Castro and A...
