The Yankees had previously reached out to Lee in the wake of an injury to Mark Teixeira, but Lee turned down the team's offer. Teixeira is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks of action. Lee, who sat out the 2012 season, has a .281/.365/.495 career line with 331 home runs in 7,963 plate appearances.
