Dewayne Wise hitless in top spot

CBSSports.com Fantasy — White Sox outfielder Dewayne Wise went 0 for 5 from the top spot in the order on Wednesday during a win at Minnesota. Wise's average fell to .250.  The 35-year-old, who has started in back-to-back games, has just 14 hits this season over 56 at-bats as a part-time player. He's struck out 12 times.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Wise has been dealing with this injury since the spring. He was expected to start in center field in the game, but was replaced by Casper Wells.

Danks snapped an 0-for-15 funk as he finished 4 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI in a 10-6 loss.Wise is hitting .231 with a home run and four RBI in 26 at-bats.

Wise drew on four starts in the Sox first 24 games this season. But fate intervened. Jordan Danks, penciled in as the starting center fielder, was limping around the clubhouse before the game with an injured right knee. A little more than two hours before game time, a new lineup was produced. Danks was scratched, replaced by Wise in center field and as the ninth hitter in the order.
