Sunday Sundries: Milwaukee Brewers Week 14 in Review

Three three and three weeks in a row... The Milwaukee Brewers said all along that having lots of good outfielders wasn’t a bad thing, and they didn’t flip any of the excess major league level outfielders for perceived needed pitching in the off season. Then this week happened...as the week wore on, Lorenzo Cain was on the disabled list, Christian Yelich left a game with lower back tightness, and Ryan Braun left a game with back tightness of his own, the Brewers were fielding an outfield of Keon Broxton, Hernan Perez, and Eric Thames. Domingo Santana is currently searching for his bat at...

Milwaukee Brewers: They need to option Orlando Arcia

The Milwaukee Brewers have already optioned one productive member from the 2017 squad in Domingo Santana. Now it’s time to send Orlando Arcia to Triple-A as well. Milwaukee Brewers: The Mishandling of Domingo Santana

Discussing the demotion of Domingo Santana

What happened to Domingo Santana’s offense? Over the weekend, the Milwaukee Brewers made a move that almost no one could have predicted would happen in the offseason: they demoted Domingo Santana to AAA. The move was certainly deserving, as Domingo has been all but unplayable this season. But it is shocking how much Santana’s offense has fallen off since last season. Not only was Santana playable in 2017, he was downright dominant at the plate. The right fielder ranked 14th in wRC+ and 15th in ISO among all MLB outfielders. Currently, he is ranked 91st in both (Only 107 outfielders...

Milwaukee Brewers: Should they add an outfielder before the deadline?

The Milwaukee Brewers have three outfielders on their active roster right now. Could they look to add to their outfield with a deadline deal? The Milwaukee Brewers demoted Domingo Santana and called up Brad Miller on Saturday morning. While, Miller will add depth to the infield, the Brewers outfield is looking thin. Milwaukee Brewers option Domingo Santana, recall Brad Miller

Milwaukee Brewers option Domingo Santana, recall Brad Miller

It’s been a precipitous fall for the team’s best offensive player in 2017. Orlando Arcia continues to struggle at the plate for the Milwaukee Brewers, and after his 0-for-2 last night his slash stands at .201/.234/.259 through 197 plate appearances. There are 220 players in the majors who have got to the plate at least 190 teams this season, including Arcia; among that group, only Kole Calhoun (18 wRC+) and Chris Davis (28 wRC+) have been worse offensive players than Arcia (30 wRC+) in 2018. So today the Milwaukee Brewers have made a move which could help address the shortcomings at the...

Milwaukee Brewers: They should option Domingo Santana

The Milwaukee Brewers have found themselves in a positional logjam and outfielder Domingo Santana is the one most negatively affected by it. The player that knocked 30 home runs […] Milwaukee Brewers: They should option Domingo Santana - Reviewing the Brew - Reviewing the Brew - A Milwaukee Brewers Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More
