Nats Journal: Emmanuel Burriss, in big league camp, hopes to help Nationals

The choice over the winter was easy. Last season was shortstop Emmanuel Burriss’s first in the Nationals organization, signed to a minor league deal but without an invitation to big league spring training. The District native and Wilson High alum spent the year at Class AAA Syracuse, hitting .300 and earning International League all-star recognition. Burriss wanted to stay with his hometown team so he re-signed to a minor league deal.
