Giants acquire Tampa Bay star Evan Longoria

The Giants, unable to swing a deal for Giancarlo Stanton this month, struck Wednesday, acquiring longtime Tampa Bay third baseman Evan Longoria. The deal, first reported by the Tampa Bay Times, will send infielder Christian Arroyo to the Rays, along with outfielder Denard Span, in order to offset some of Longoria’s salary.
