Jeff Branson is helping Gregory Polanco shorten his swing by keeping him guessing

Pirates hitting coach Jeff Branson put two batting tees atop home plate at PNC Park Saturday afternoon. He placed a ball on each. As Gregory Polanco began his swing, Branson would tell Polanco which ball to hit, inside or outside.

Starling Marte is becoming a better hitter, and he's still really fast

CHICAGO — On Friday night, Marte hit the first career inside-the-park home run, a deep fly ball that careened off the left-center wall at Miller Park. Accelerating around the bases, Marte nearly caught up to Gregory Polanco, who was on first base, and scored standing up.
