Game 44 preview: 05/23 Padres @ Dodgers

After losing a heartbreaker to the Dodgers last night, the Padres will try again in game 2 as Ian Kennedy takes the mound against Mike Bolsinger. After battling back from an early-season injury, Kennedy struggled in most of his starts. He's 2-3 with a 6.75 ERA on the season, and his worst outing of all came against the same team he'll be facing tonight. Kennedy gave up eight runs and lasted only 4 1/3 innings on April 25th against the Dodgers at Petco Park. In 18 career starts against L.A. he's 5-8 with a 4.58 ERA. Bolsinger has only faced San Diego once in his career, last season as a...

Nationals 10, Padres 5: DC outbombs San Diego

Ian Kennedy had four really good innings today. And by "really good," I mean he went the first four innings of the afternoon without allowing a single hit. In those frames, he gave up a lone walk while striking out six. Even his fifth inning was looking pretty good. He gave up a leadoff triple to Bryce Harper followed by a Ryan Zimmerman single to put runners on the corners with nobody out, but he bounced back with a pair of harmless pop ups. But between the second out and the third out, Danny Espinosa hit a three-run homer. That fifth was pretty rough, but on its own wouldn't have been so...

Padres News: Upton, Solarte Lead Offense; Kennedy Cruises in 14-3 Win

After a rough start to the season, the San Diego Padres‘ starting pitcher Ian Kennedy was taking his time. Pitching quite a bit more deliberately than he usually does, Kennedy pitched his best game of the young season, allowing two runs and four hits in six innings, striking out six, while the Padres’ offense broke out in a 14-3 victory […] Padres News: Upton, Solarte Lead Offense; Kennedy Cruises in 14-3 Win - Friars on Base - Friars on Base - A San Diego Padres Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Game 24 Preview: 05/01 Padres vs. Rockies

After losing seven of their last eight games and ending their April with an 11-12 record, the Padres got a little breather yesterday on their off day. But today they're back at it and will try to get May started on a positive note as they welcome the Rockies to Petco Park. Ian Kennedy makes his second start since coming back from the DL and looks to have a better outing than his last. On Saturday he gave up eight earned runs in just 4 1/3 innings of work against the NL-West-leading Dodgers. It was his worst start in almost two years. In 18 career starts against Colorado, Kennedy is 5-4 with...
