Davis, who is batting just .157 through the first 37 games of the season, suffered through a similar slow start 2012 that the Mets allowed him to battle through. He was hitting just .170 through the end of May last year, before hitting .253 with 27 home runs in his final 108 games.

Davis is hitting .164/.254/.279 in 122 at-bats. Davis is hitless in his last five games, but Terry Collins has been "encouraged" by his at-bats. "Ike’s swinging better.
