Game #98 Preview: Cashner vs Happ

Game #98 Preview: Cashner vs Happ

Orioles (28-71) vs Blue Jays (45-52) After a second consecutive great start leading to a win yesterday afternoon, the Jays look to earn the sweep over Orioles on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Today’s game gets underway at 1:07 ET. Blue Jays’ Starter All Star J.A. Happ gets the ball for the Blue Jays. After earning the save in the All Star Game, Happ is ready to resume his life as a starting pitcher and as trade bait. And that life hasn’t been going so well since the calendar flipped to July. In 3 July starts against Detroit, New York and Boston, Happ has thrown just 12 innings,...

Blue Jays: Clint Frazier available, Yanks still in on J.A. Happ

While the New York Yankees seemed to have been a tad quiet on the trade front, some recent details have surfaced which make them more interesting in potential trade talks. According to Sung Min Kim of the Washington Post and Fangraphs, the New York Yankees are attempting to improve their starting pitching via trades. After his June 29th start he had a 10-3 record and a 3.62 ERA. His three July starts haven’t gone well, 0-3 and a 9.75 ERA. In total he has a 4.29 ERA with a 10-6 record. He has a 4.02 FIP and a 3.75 xFIP. FanGraphs has him at a 1.7 WAR. He has 8 Quality Starts in his 19 start this...
