Jake Arrieta proves worthy of 'ace' designation

CHICAGO -- All indications point to major changes coming to Wrigley Field in 2015. It’s not just the addition of a JumboTron, revenue-building advertisements and other additions to the 100-year-old ballpark. Jake Arrieta better bet for long-term success than Kyle Hendricks

A great leap forward by Anthony Rizzo, a bounce-back season for Starlin Castro and the first taste of the majors for hot prospects Jorge Soler, Javier Baez and Arismendy Alcantara have stoked Cubs fans’ hopes for a near-future rise. So, too, have the performances of starting pitchers Jake Arrieta (9-5, 2.31 ERA) and Kyle Hendricks (7-2, 2.28). Arrieta and Hendricks have been successful in vastly different ways.
