Poll Time: Which AL team are you cheering for in the playoffs?

Poll Time: Which AL team are you cheering for in the playoffs?

Thought I’d ask the question ‘Which AL team are you cheering for in the playoffs?”. Our choices: Cleveland: Pluses: They have Edwin, Josh, Melky, Yan. Minuses: They have Bauer and that stupid grinning logo. Their series against the Astros should be a good one. Astros: Pluses: Jake Marisnick and Joe Smith. They are a likable group (for the most part). Lourdes brother is there. Minuses: Roberto Osuna, I’m hating the idea that things could work out so well for him. And they won last year, so they don’t need it again. Red Sox: Pluses: None. Well, I guess Farrell not working there...

Game Recap: Best Team in Astros History. Take Game 3 from O’s 5-2 for 103rd Season Win

Long balls from Straw, McCann, Marisnick seal win. The Astros are Playoff Ready. With one more game to go in the regular season, the Astros are cruising into the playoffs, resting veterans, trying out fresh faces, and compiling an 8-2 record in their last ten games. Or 21-5 in September, or 26-8 since August 21st. In September they have a +53 run differential. Lots of good news coming out of today’s doubleheader in Baltimore. After getting some hitting instruction in the dugout in front of the TV cameras, Carlos Correa seemingly exploded out of his prolonged hitting slump with an oppo...

Game Recap: Pitching, Defense Take One in Baltimore, Astros 2, O’s 1

Game Recap: Pitching, Defense Take One in Baltimore, Astros 2, O’s 1

Marisnick ninth inning catch saves victory. Jake Marisnick won tonight’s game with a clutch walk-off in the bottom of the ninth. Not a walk-off hit, but another amazing superman catch in center field, this one with two outs in the bottom of the ninth that prevented the Orioles from tying the score. A walk-off catch if you will, and for the good it did the Astros, it might as well have been a ninth inning home run to tie the score. According to Statcast the ball Jake caught had a 72% hit probability. Seems low to my eye. Here it is. Game saving catch for win 101 ...
