As expected the Twins have declined their 2015 option on veteran reliever Jared Burton, making him a free agent. Instead of paying Burton $3.6 million next season, they paid a $200,000 buyout on a contract option that was part of the two-year, $5.45 million extension he signed in 2012. Burton, 33, made 203 combined appearances for the Twins over the past three seasons, pitching to a 3.47 earned run average.
