GLENDALE, Ariz. — The acquisition of right-handed reliever Javy Guerra on waivers from the Dodgers Wednesday “threw a wrench” into bullpen plans, manager Robin Ventura said. Guerra, 28, has a solid track record that includes closing experience in the majors and he had ERAs of 2.31 in 2011 (47 games) and 2.60 in 2012 (45). White Sox claim Guerra off waivers

The Chicago White Sox claimed reliever Javy Guerra off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday. The right-handed Guerra, 28, made nine appearances with the Dodgers last season, recording a 6.75 ERA and striking out 12 in 10.1 innings pitched. He is a combined 4-5 with a 2.90 ERA over parts of three major-league seasons (2011-13) with the Dodgers. Originally selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2004 draft, Guerra spent most of 2013 with Triple-A Albuquerque, going 0-4 with a 3.
