Toronto Star — Colorado Rockies left-hander Jeff Francis, a native of Vancouver, will make his second ever start on Canadian soil Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Jeff Francis appears to be odd man out

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Rockies reportedly have parted ways with pitcher Jeff Francis, whose locker was empty prior to Wednesday's game against the Nationals according to the Denver Post. Francis is expected to be optioned to clear a roster spot for Roy Oswalt, who is joining the rotation Thursday. Francis surrendered eight runs in six innings Tuesday to push his ERA on the season to 6.58. Francis has minor-league options remaining, but would have to agree to an assignment to Triple-A Colorado Springs before that move can be made.

Jeff Francis throws 45 pitches at extended spring training

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rockies pitcher Jeff Francis threw 45 pitches over 3 1/3 innings in extended spring training Tuesday but was hit on the left shin by a line drive, MLB.com reports. Francis is recovering from a left groin strain, and has no timetable for return. He's posted a 6.00 ERA in 36 innings this year while striking out 31 batters.
