Twins not interested in Jim Thome

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports Sunday that the Minnesota Twins are not expected to sign free-agent slugger Jim Thome.  "I would doubt there would be any outside solutions," manager Ron Gardenhire said of adding someone to the team's bench. The 42-year-old Thome remains a free agent and it looks like he'll start the 2013 season without a team. Thome played 58 games last year between Philadelphia and Baltimore and hit .252 with eight homers and 25 RBI through 163 at-bats.

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told reporters Friday that he hopes the team brings back designated hitter Jim Thome, however, a snag in the deal could be Thome's desire for a major-league contract. Twinkie Town — I'm not sure what's more of a surprise - that the Twins are considering bringing Jim Thome back into the fold, or that Jim Thome actually is, one by one, completing his farewell tour by making a second stop in every city he's played for in the past.
