Nathan Karns serves up two homers in MLB debut

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Nationals starting pitcher prospect Nathan Karns made his big-league debut Tuesday night against the Orioles.Karns had a hard time keeping the ball in the park as he surrendered solo homers to Chris Davis and J.J. Hardy in the fourth inning. The right-hander was charged with three runs and five hits in 4 1/3 innings of work in a no-decision. He struck out three and walked one in a 9-3 victory.Karns is expected to make one more start in the majors Sunday at Atlanta, before Ross Detwiler returns from the disabled list.

J.J. Hardy hits 10th home run

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Orioles shortstop J.J. Hardy had a great game at the plate Tuesday during a loss at Washington. Hardy hit his 10th home run among three hits.  Hardy hit a solo shot in the fourth inning. He added two singles as he went 3 for 4 to increase his batting average to .250 on the year.  He has hit in seven straight games and has gone 10 for 29 (.345) with five runs scored, two doubles, two homers and six RBI. He's up to 32 RBI and 22 runs scored on the year.
