Noonan on his way back to SF Giants

San Francisco Chronicle — Nick Noonan’s stay in Fresno was brief. He was there long enough to go 3-for-5 in a 10-1 win over Tucson. This morning, he is on his way to Pittsburgh to rejoin the Giants, who are likely to place Pablo Sandoval on the disabled list with that lingering foot sprain. If so, I imagine Noonan and Joaquin Arias will share third base. Manager Bruce Bochy will provide all the details, but I think Arias will be first among equals because he has more experience. In other words, I’m no sure it’ll be a left-right platoon. But we’ll see. Noonan’s big-league career got off to a nice start, but his average ...

Dodgers - Ted Lilly-P

Rotoinfo — After missing a start with the flu, Ted Lilly returned to game action for 10 whole pitches Friday until a hailstorm interrupted a Dodgers-Giants game that later was rained out. Lilly made another 25 throws in the bullpen after the rain stopped. He struck out Joaquin Arias before allowing a two-out double to Hunter Pence, bringing up Buster Posey when the skies opened. "I definitely wanted to pitch with Posey up and a guy on second," said Lilly. "A situation like that, I have to make a pitch against a good hitter. I need those things." Lilly is coming off shoulder surgery, but he's talking a...

San Francisco Chronicle — A few jobs at stake in spring games Blanco came to spring training on a minor-league contract last year, hit .333 with 13 steals, and displayed a fancy glove in the exhibitions to bull his way onto the 25-man roster.
