Blue Jays would be better served demoting Joe Biagini

The Toronto Blue Jays would be better served to send reliever Joe Biagini back to the minors to iron out the kinks rather than continue to get decimated at the major league level. Joe Biagini has been awful in every role he has been utilized in this season and can no longer be relied upon […] Blue Jays would be better served demoting Joe Biagini - Jays Journal - Jays Journal - A Toronto Blue Jays Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Jays Roster Moves: Mayza down

Jays Roster Moves: Mayza down

I think we all figured that Joe Biagini would be the one send off to make room for Preston Guilmet, but the Blue Jays decided to send Tim Mayza down instead. Mayza pitched 2 scoreless innings today, allowing just 1 hit, with 1 strikeout, dropping his ERA to 2.70. Mayza came up on June 1st, pitching 3.2 innings, giving up just 1 hit, no walks with 1 strikeout. Biagini, on the other hand, gave up a run off 2 hits, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, bumping his ERA up to 8.31. He’s having a rough time. I’m not sure if it is confidence or if maybe this is him, maybe that rookie season was the outlier....

Judge, Stanton homer in 13th as Yankees beat Blue Jays 3-0

TORONTO — In two days, Yankees slugger Aaron Judge went from terrible to triumphant.Judge hit a two-run homer to snap a scoreless tie in the 13th inning, Giancarlo Stanton went deep moments later and New York beat the Toronto Blue Jays 3-0 on Wednesday night for a two-game sweep.Judge bounced back from what he called a "terrible day" on Monday at Detroit, where he went 0 for 9 with a record eight strikeouts in a doubleheader. After a night off Tuesday, the slugger ended an 0-for-15 slump by connecting off right-hander Joe Biagini (0-5) for his team-leading 17th home run."That's what I love...

Well, it took a lot longer for the Jays to lose tonight. 13 innings.

Well, it took a lot longer for the Jays to lose tonight. 13 innings.

Yankees 3 Blue Jays 0 (13 innings) It was a pitcher’s duel until the top of the 13th. Joe Biagini started the 13th. He struck out Torrez. Then gave up a single to Gardner. Unfortunately he gave up an Aaron Judge homer. That was followed, an out later by a Stanton homer. I’d be irritated, but we had 12 innings to score a run. And we didn’t. If the Yankees didn’t score there, we might have gone another 12 innings without scoring. We only managed 4 hits in 13 innings. Kendrys Morales had 2 of them single and a double in the 13th. Justin Smoak had one (a double) and Devon Travis had...

One bad inning, Jays lose

One bad inning, Jays lose

Blue Jays 2 Tigers 5 So, one bad inning. Jamie Garcia had a good first inning and then the wheels came off in the second. He gave up 6 hits in the inning. Lots of seeing eye hits, but then balls that were hit hard. There was a fly ball just out of Kevin Pillar’s reach that went for a triple, but mostly ground balls going between infielders. They were hard hit ground balls, but he needed a bit of luck, a ground ball going right at someone. The bullpen did a good job 6.1 innings, just 1 run again, a solo homer off Tyler Clippard. Danny Barnes (1.1), Joe Biagini (3.0) and John Axford (1.0)...

Game #56 Preview: Gaviglio vs Rodriguez

Game #56 Preview: Gaviglio vs Rodriguez

Blue Jays (25-30) vs Red Sox (38-17) After a second straight 8-3 loss, the Blue Jays will fight to avoid the sweep at the hands of the Red Sox this afternoon. The first pitch for this one is at 1:05 ET, so don’t feel bad if you skip this one because you’re working, or really don’t want to watch the Blue Jays right now. Blue Jays’ Starter Sam Gaviglio takes his third turn in the rotation, originally making his way there in place of the temporarily injured Jaime Garcia, and then bumping Joe Biagini from the rotation because he was doing better than Joe. Through his first two starts...

Blue Jays: Should Joe Biagini be a starter?

After four starts this season, Joe Biagini has yet to impress and Blue Jay fans are becoming wary. A few weeks ago I wrote an article about Marcus Stroman and suggested that Biagini should come in as a short-term replacement in Stroman’s absence. That’s exactly what happened. It seemed like a good idea at the […] Blue Jays: Should Joe Biagini be a starter? - Jays Journal - Jays Journal - A Toronto Blue Jays Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Toronto Blue Jays: Time to move Joe Biagini back to the bullpen

If the Toronto Blue Jays want to maximize Joe Biagini‘s impact as a pitcher, it should be in the bullpen and not as a starter. With the Toronto Blue Jays‘ bullpen struggling and no return in sight for Roberto Osuna, the best way to provide some relief would be to end the experiment with Joe […] Toronto Blue Jays: Time to move Joe Biagini back to the bullpen - Tip of the Tower - Tip of the Tower - A Toronto Sports Site - Maple Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors, Toronto FC, Raptors and Argonauts
