The Red Sox estimate it generally takes about 30 starts for a pitcher to settle in at the big league level. It can be a challenge, then, for playoff contenders to introduce more than one rookie per season into the rotation. The Sox presently have two: Eduardo Rodriguez (above right) and Brian Johnson (above left).Since 2000, seven American League teams have had multiple rookies (age 25 or younger) make at least 10 starts in a season in which they made the playoffs.Here’s the list:2000 White Sox: Kip Wells (6-9, 6.02 ERA), Jon Garland (4-8, 6.46)
