Josh Lindblom to join Rangers' rotation

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Rangers announced Thursday pitcher Josh Lindblom will be promoted from Triple-A Round Rock to start Monday against the Athletics after Alexi Ogando was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right biceps tendinitis.  Lindblom has had success at Round Rock after being converted from a reliever to a starter. He is 4-0 with a 2.08 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in eight outings (seven starts). He has struck out 33 in 43 1/3 innings.

Alexi Ogando sent to 15-day DL

CBSSports.com Fantasy — The Rangers announced Thursday starting pitcher Alexi Ogando was placed on the 15-day disabled list with right biceps tendinitis. Josh Lindblom will replace him in the rotation Monday against the Athletics. Ogando got the win Wednesday at Oakland, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk in six innings. He's 4-2 with a 3.08 ERA through nine starts.

Josh Lindblom adjusting to new role

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rangers pitcher Josh Lindblom made his third start for Triple-A Round Rock Saturday night and allowed one run over five innings of four-hit ball. The right-hander also struck out seven and has 18 in 17 innings pitched down on the farm. Lindblom is being stretched out at Triple-A to give Texas some insurance in the rotation. "Reports have been good," general manager Jon Daniels told MLB.com on Sunday. "It's three quality pitches for strikes [plus working on a curveball] on a physical frame that can handle the innings. It's early, but it looks like he's taken to the role well."

Josh Lindblom to stretch out at Triple-A

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rangers pitcher Josh Lindblom was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock to be stretched out as a starter, the Dallas Morning News reports. The right-hander posted a 6.10 ERA in nine appearances during the Cactus League. Lindblom could also return to the majors as a reliever at some point this season. "He's got a durable frame and is interested in starting," general manager Jon Daniels said. "At the same time, we know he's got a track record in a setup role."
