Nationals rumors: Derek Norris placed on waivers

Nationals rumors: Derek Norris placed on waivers

A trade could be coming. The Nationals placed catcher Derek Norris on waivers Saturday, according to FanRag Sports’ Jon Heyman. Norris essentially lost a spot on Washington’s roster as a result of the club’s decision to sign free agent backstop Matt Wieters. Norris is slated to make about $4.2 million and it could be difficult to trade him because of it. The Nationals are only responsible for Norris’ termination pay, according to Heyman. The Goddard, Kansas, native has already hit two home runs this spring, but the Nationals seemingly haven’t had much success trading him....
