Michael Lorenzen is probably fine

Photo by Joe Robbins/ What we can answer from five games out of the pen, and what we can’t Michael Lorenzen has appeared in five games out of the Cincinnati bullpen in the first couple weeks of the 2020 season, and nearly all of them have gone terribly. The first one included this homer by Miguel Cabrera: The next time he was called on to pitch, he gave up another homer, this time to C.J. Cron: Then the Reds gave him another opportunity to pitch two days later against the Cubs, and Javier Baez did this: Lorenzen finally turned in a scoreless, homerless outing in his fourth...

Cincinnati Reds: Michael Lorenzen returns to form vs Indians

Reds right-hander Michael Lorenzen pitched a perfect sixth inning on Monday night. Admit it, when Michael Lorenzen replaced Sonny Gray last night, you were a bit nervous. Late homer haunts Michael Lorenzen again, Tigers beat Reds 3-2, win series

Photo by Andy Lyons/ Just the worst possible way to begin this season. The Joe Nuxhall Memorial Honorary Star of the Game Trevor Bauer got to spend a few extra months of off-season just like the rest of Major League Baseball. What he got to also wait for, though, was his chance to show the Cincinnati Reds that the pitcher they traded for last summer was much, much better than what he showed down the stretch last year. So far, so good. Bauer fanned 13 Detroit Tigers in 6.1 IP for the Reds, allowing just a lone run and lone walk in the process. That on the heels of the excellent outings...

Red Reposter - Nick Senzel’s elbow, Reds sign Jackson Miller

Photo by Joe Robbins/ Links, and the like. When we last saw Nick Senzel, he was mashing a Michael Lorenzen meatball way over the left field wall in GABP on Thursday, slugging the kind of dinger that let you know that his surgically repaired right shoulder was no longer bothering him in the slightest. In camp this year knowing he’ll be on the Opening Day roster for the first time - service time manipulation and said shoulder injury now in the past - Senzel has impressed pretty much everyone early on in camp, exactly what we all hoped we’d see from the once hyped, still young...
