WEEI Axes 'PlanetMikey' Host Adams After Eleven Years

In a move likely to cause consternation among a loyal fan base, WEEI 93.7 radio axed long-time evening host Mike Adams on Tuesday afternoon. Adams had been doing the evening 'Planet Mikey' program (6-10 PM--often the lead-in to Red Sox baseball) since 2005. Prior to that, Adams was a highly successful (and Emmy-winning) host of a wild and wacky live TV sports show on New England Cable News (Mike Adams Sports World/1991-1998).
