Diamondbacks dump Braves into dustbin and complete sweep with 4-1 victory

The Diamondbacks completed the sweep and now the Braves will be heading to Cleveland after three bad games. Despite the fact that it was a beautiful day at SunTrust Park, the action on the field wasn’t so beautiful as the Braves ended up getting swept by the Diamondbacks after losing 4-1. The good news about today’s game is that Mike Soroka had a pretty good return to the big leagues, as he went five innings and struck out six while giving up two walks. Unfortunately, he didn’t exactly come out of the gates firing on all cylinders as his first inning was one that we’d like to...

Carle goes back to Gwinnett to make room for Soroka

One and done for the righty reliever. Happy Mike Soroka 2019 debut day. Unless you’re Shane Carle, who’s being optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett for the second time this month to make room for Soroka on the 25-man roster. The #Braves today recalled RHP Mike Soroka from Triple-A Gwinnett after optioning RHP Shane Carle to @GoStripers following last night’s game.— Atlanta Braves (@Braves) April 18, 2019 Carle made one appearance since his recall, which came earlier in the Braves’ current series against the Diamondbacks. Mike Soroka is set to make his 2019 season debut as Braves face Diamondbacks

The Braves are in peril of being swept by the Diamondbacks. Hopefully Mike Soroka can help prevent that from happening. After dropping two consecutive games due to the bullpen making plenty of mistakes late in the game, the Braves are now in a position where they will have to win an early matinee game in order to avoid a sweep at the hand of the visiting Diamondbacks. The good news is that this should be an exciting day everybody who will actually get to watch the game, as Mike Soroka will be making his return to the big leagues for the first time since June of last season. That was when...

Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap 4/7: Quiet day on the farm

After a few exciting days to get the minor league season started, Sunday was relatively quiet in the minors. While we’ve had some excitement in the first few days of the minor league season, led by Mike Foltynewicz and Mike Soroka returning from injuries and looking great on the mound, Sunday was not one of those types of days. Not that we don’t have plenty to talk about anyway. The Braves have rookies in the rotation. Good for them

It’s scary, yes. The Atlanta Braves’ starting pitchers for their opening series in Philadelphia this week include Julio Teheran, who made the playoff roster only as a long reliever, and then two rookies. Max Fried is penciled in as the No. 5 starter. Mike Foltynewicz, Kevin Gausman and Mike Soroka aren’t yet healthy. Touki Toussaint has been sent to the minors. The team that didn’t sign a starter over the winter is running low on starters, and it’s not yet April. The Braves are doomed!
