Rangers get good news on injured players

The Texas Rangers announced Tuesday that follow-up MRIs on injured 1B/DH Mitch Moreland (left ankle surgery) and 2B Jurickson Profar (right shoulder strain) revealed each player should be ready for spring training. Moreland, who played in just 52 games last season before needing ankle surgery, is expected to be tendered a contract by the 11 p.m. CST deadline today. Based on an examination from team Dr. Keith Meister, Moreland was cleared for a progressive running program and will participate in spring training with no restrictions.
