Rangers' Neftali Feliz not ready for mound

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rangers pitcher Neftali Feliz, who underwent Tommy John surgery Aug. 1, has begun throwing long toss from farther distances, MLB.com reported Tuesday. Feliz has been stretched out to 105 feet, but is not yet ready to begin throwing off a mound. Feliz likely won't be able to make a return for the Rangers until late July or early August.

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Rangers pitcher Neftali Feliz (elbow) was placed on the 60-day disabled list Sunday in order to clear a spot on the 40-man roster. Feliz, who advanced to throwing from 60 feet in his rehab from Tommy John surgery last month, is expected to return in August.

Injured pitchers continue to make progress

Texas Rangers Blog | ESPN Dallas — Before the Texas Rangers arrive in Surprise, Ariz., for spring training, they'll have an injury report that is fairly lengthy when it comes to arms. The good news is that those rehabbing from surgery and injury are progressing and remain on track. The headliners, of course, are Colby Lewis, Neftali Feliz and Joakim Soria. General manager Jon Daniels said there was nothing new to report on the trio, which means they are still on their paths. Feliz is likely behind Lewis and Soria, but all three are in rehab and working toward returning.
