Aaron Hicks Healed My Pain, And Other Astounding Stories

Twinkie Town — Aaron Hicks is the only exciting thing about the Minnesota Twins this year. That excitement is high, but it's not quite high enough, because I still have other thoughts in my head, like "I bet Kevin Correia makes us wish for Nick Blackburn," and these thoughts are depressing and I don't like them. So let me tell you a story about Aaron Michael Hicks: Aaron Hicks healed my pain. I have walked with a limp for eight years, because in 2005 I was at a corporate golf outing and a captain of industry sliced one off the 18th hole. 2013 Twins Spring Training Non-Roster Invitee: Nick Blackburn

Twinkie TownNick Blackburn, RHPAge: 31 Turning 31 in four days, Blackburn is looking to regain the consistency that made him a valuable pitcher. To make this happen, statistically the easiest thing for him to do would be to locate his command and to bring his walk rates back down. After living on the margins, the last couple of seasons have seen Blackburn's already flimsy peripherals collapse in on themselves. Of course that's the prescription, and not an analysis of his symptoms. What will work for Nick? Finding a way to repeat his desired throwing motion would help his location and would help t...
