Giants re-sign catcher Nick Hundley to a one-year deal

The Giants welcomed their Willie Mac award winner back Tuesday, re-signing backup catcher Nick Hundley to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million. “We are glad to welcome Nick back to the Giants,” general manager Bobby Evans said in a release. “We appreciated his contributions last year and we look forward to him wearing a Giants uniform again in 2018." Hundley, 34, was a valuable piece for the Giants, playing in 101 games as Buster Posey’s backup and contributing offensively, batting .249 (70-for-287) with nine homers and 35 RBIs last season.
