Braves rally falls short in 4-3 loss to Phillies

Atlanta threatens in the ninth but falls short in Philadelphia. The Atlanta Braves rallied in the ninth but fell just short with a 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies. Atlanta entered the ninth trailing 4-2 when Adonis Garcia led off the inning with a home run to left off of Phillies reliever Hector Neris just as a heavy downpour began at Citizens Bank Park. The Umpires called for the tarp as the game entered a 24 minute rain delay. When play resumed, Neris got Freddie Freeman to fly out to short center while Matt Kemp lined out to right for the second out of the inning. Nick Markakis...

Nick Markakis, consistently consistent and unspectacular

There was much ado about Nick Markakis signing his four-year deal with the Braves during the 2014-2015 offseason. Since then, he’s been quite consistent and may even be getting better as he distances himself from neck surgery. The biggest concern with Markakis wasn’t so much the money ($44 million) but the length of the contract. 2017 Atlanta Braves Player Preview: Nick Markakis

After watching Nick Markakis play for the Atlanta Braves the past couple of years the best way I know how to describe him is consistent. People have a tendency to confuse the word consistent for a compliment. You’ll often hear announcers heap praises on guys for the consistency with which they play. But consistent, by itself, […] 2017 Atlanta Braves Player Preview: Nick Markakis - Tomahawk Take - Tomahawk Take - An Atlanta Braves Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Braves Player Projections: Outfielders

Braves Player Projections: Outfielders

Ender Inciarte and avert your eyes Rounding out the position player side of the 2017 Braves roster, we have the outfielders. On the plus side, the outfield features all-around awesome baseball bandit Ender Inciarte. On the minus side, that’s about it, from a projections standpoint. In addition, the Braves still don’t have a great option (or any option, really) for a fourth outfielder as of the time of this writing, so it’s a little barebones aside from the starting trio of Kemp-Inciarte-Markakis. Once again, you can skip the quick Q&A below if you’ve already read it, or plain...
